"锄禾日当午，汗滴禾下土。谁知盘中餐，粒粒皆辛苦。"这首脍炙人口的诗歌，我们每一个人也许都能背过，并深知其中的寓意。

这首体现了我国劳动人民的优良传统的诗歌，不仅表现了劳动者生产的艰辛，也从侧面教育人们要节约粮食，珍惜劳动成果。

可是今天，有些人对严重浪费粮食的现象，不但不深恶痛绝，而且还满不在乎，认为那只不过是一件小事而已。如果这确是一件小事，那我们大可不必在意，可事实证明这决不是一件小事！

也许有些人认为，我国物产丰富，土地辽阔，是个农业大国，浪费区区一点粮食，不会有什么大碍，不过小事一桩。不错，我国确是物产丰富，土地辽阔的国家，但在今天每一个有头脑的中国人，都是不会为此而盲目地乐观的。因为他们知道，与此同时中国也是一个人口众多、相对资源贫乏的国家。且不说粮食的其它用途，单就吃饭来说，中国要用占世界百分之七的耕地来养活占世界百分之二十一的人口。能做到这一点已可以说是十二分的不易了。试想，如果我们中国十三亿人口，每人浪费一个馒头，一碗米饭，这十三亿个馒头和十三亿碗米饭，将会给我们国家带来多么巨大而不可弥补的损失。这里，我不禁要问那些盲目乐观者，浪费粮食还是一件小事吗？

还有一些人会说，粮食是我用钱买来的，钱是我自己挣的，我吃掉也好，浪费掉也好，还不是小事一桩吗？有这样想法的人，可以说是愚蠢之极了。粮食是用钱买来的，可钱不也是用劳动换来的吗？"几分耕耘几分收获"，把自己劳动所得的成果白白浪费掉，岂不是愚蠢之极吗？退一步说，即使这些人钱来得很容易，甚至可以不需要付出什么劳动，可也得爱惜他人的劳动成果呀。正如开头诗歌里所描绘，劳动者是在怎样的环境中劳作，付出了多大的艰辛，才收获到了颗粒粮食，这粮食又经过多少人之手，才成为现成的食物拿到你的手中。且不说，如果浪费得没有了粮食，即使你有钱又到何处去买呢？所以，我又要问问，那些视自己及他人劳动成果于不顾的人，是否还认为浪费粮食是一件小事吗？

如今，从学校到餐馆，从家庭到公共场所，浪费粮食的现象还是很普遍的，这应当引起我们的警惕，决不能等闲视之。

"浪费"这个词从一出现就是以贬义存在于世的，也就是说它所体现的是一种不良的行为。中国古有"俭以养德"之训诫，今有"勤俭建国"之口号。可见，浪费粮食，就其精神方面讲，是种道德败坏；就其物质方面说，是种财物的损耗，都会给我们带来很大的危害，绝非一件小事，而是有害于传统美德和国家建设的大事。
