if和unless的用法区别有：

1、不能用and连接两个unless从句，即不能用…unless…、and unless….但if…not and if… not却不受此限。
2、if 可用于引导虚拟条件句，unless一般不能引导虚拟条件句。

if的用法：

if表示如果，可用于从句，或者开头表示如果。

例句：If they were here,they would help you.

如果他们在这儿，他们会帮助你。

unless的用法：

unless用在句首的话后面用倒装，用在句中是 如果不/除非表示转折。

例句：I won't apologize unless she apologizes first.

除非她先道歉，否则我不道歉。

在许多场合，unless等于 if ... not，如：You will be late unless you hurry.也可以写作：You will be late if you don't hurry.如果你不快点你就会迟到了。
